Much of the news around us today is centered on the global economic setback. Each and every day more and more people are being turned away from their jobs. Recent reports show the end is not in view yet, at least for this year.

Sometime ago, as reported by www.philly.com, Olivier Blanchard, chief economist for the IMF, warned that the global economy is expected to lurch into reverse this year for the first time since World War II, with real-world consequences, “We can be fairly confident that in 2010 or even 2011, economies will not be back to normal”, he had said.

Faced with this the question one will want to ask is, what is the way forward?

Now I’m not an economic expert, neither would I want to offer some measured discussion on what the experts need do or not do. However, having studied and learned from experience that in every problem there is always something good just as Napoleon Hill in his book, “You Can Work Your Own Miracles” said, “The fears and failure of men, the shocks and disappointments in human relations, all are designed to shake man loose from habits to which he so tenaciously clings, so he may adopt, embrace, and benefit by better habits of growth.”

So I do believe that what the economic crisis is simply saying to us is to re-evaluate our ways. Whether you’ve been turned away from your job or you’re uncertain of what will happen next there is something you can do to keep body and soul together so that you can pull through this economic hullabaloo. And peradventure if you do it right you may just be among those who would have beaten the economic meltdown, hands down!

So what can you do?

Before now faced with our daily needs and the meager income from our jobs, many of us have dreamed of saying good bye to our bosses and starting out on our own. When you start a sole proprietorship type of home based business you are faced with a lot of competition.
